That's because this place has heart--not to mention full kitchens, designer bathrooms and even a place to lay your head. But it's not about the boxes the move. It's about the heartbeat at the center of the operation. It comes from owner Bob Atkins, as well as his longtime employees who work there and stay for years because it's like a family. This place started as a microwave-oven retailer back when that was a thing in the 1980s, and it grew into a 25,000-square-foot appliance retailing giant in the Los Angeles area, with customers who've been shopping there for decades. Everyone from the owner to the sales consultants to the delivery drivers share the joy of doing the job and doing it well for a legacy, family-owned superstore.

So, "A smokin' tomato goes into a bar." Haven't heard that one? Well it seems that thousands have. And that was just on the first day this video was posted. The aim was clear, graphic, and slightly silly communication that would ready well on a hand-held device.

​Executed on a whim for a product we just like--and for a CEO looking to to sell his company, Did this video help close the sale of Aphex to RØDE microphones? Who knows. But Is This Really The Best USB Microphone did win a gold statue Award For Excellence in the 2015 Communicator Awards.

Sometimes, there is no better spokesperson in an ad campaign than the business owner himself. And in this case, Dr. Sam Giveen's no-nonsense New England bearing informs everything about the brand--right down to speaking to the heart of his New Hampshire neighbors in language they understand.

Park City is a cool little town with a whole lot happening. And E7 is a cool little real estate agency with a whole lot going on. With over 40 years combined experience in the market, they're not like other agents. they have a deep and loyal client list spanning back decades. Their regular repeat customer base is testimony to the personal interest they take in each client. And like Park City, they're just fun to be around. As for the online videos, they have a limited budget and need to make the most of every dollar they spend. Online videos have provided a way for them to get noticed while spending nothing on media.

​Uniting A World That Can't 

Sit Still
Part of making PlanetDo come alive for prospects and investors was the launch of DoVision. This no-budget guerrilla TV operation went on location at all kinds events for the active outdoor community, from product segments shot at the SIA Snowshow in Denver to documenting the mayhem at the annual Canyons Resort Pond Skimming event in Park City, Utah. All of the resulting videos--reflecting a true seat-of-the-pants, devil-may-care sensibility--are seen at DoVision's "Hucking Off Point" YouTube channel. The result? over 10,000 viewers before PlanetDo.com even entered beta. Park City TV was also quite happy to accept these ridiculous segments for broadcast on their network.

Promotion that doesn't look like promotion. When it was time to turn to actual marketing, a hard sell was out, Instead, PlanetDo videos that were fun, irreverent, and most importantly, invited viewers to play along. And guess what? They did.--to the tune of 16,000+ in the first week.

​Best to let the women who stared it all, extend the welcome in her own words. There was nothing we could script that would be more powerful, relatable and compelling than what Julie, the founder, could say. She understand the way only someone who's been through it for over 7 years can. She is truly a special person.

Minutes from Park City. 
Miles from Ordinary.
Another advertiser with no media budget, it was necessary to help Realtor Dan Heath convey the reality of his unique neighborhood--and do it in a way that also helps him with SEO. This video has brought this one-man shop a lot of attention. Even committed city dwellers have been so affected by Dan's laid-back folksiness and candor that they've been known to exclaim, "I have to move there!" And more than one viewer has admitted that it moved them to tears.

They've been where the core customer is and know what they're going through. And because of the dentists at Total Freedom, they're now enjoying their lives. No hard sell. No need. The truth, at least in this case, helped set people free. (And Ben became a minor celebrity.)
