"Scared money never wins. Go big."
Honey Parker is a national award-winning writer with over 30 years experience. Starting her career in as a New York advertising art director, Honey switched over to copywriting. (Better hours.) She quickly worked her way to creative director. (Worse hours.) After her stint as a Senior VP Creative at the iconic Grey Advertising, Honey became a gun for hire on both coasts before co-founding Slow Burn Marketing. Working with her husband Blaine Parker, she has also appeared on event stages from Los Angeles to Singapore, speaking to audiences as vast as 5,000 about the thrills and excitement of doing marketing that doesn’t suck.
While all this was going on, Honey started her career as a stand-up comic, winning the title: “Funniest Person In Advertising.” She has toured clubs, colleges and made the occasional TV appearance. She was also a core member of the improve group Short Order Theater with weekly shows at both New York's Comic Strip and Comedy Cellar.
Once in Hollywood, Honey was chosen for the NBC New Voices program in TV writing. She has also co-written and sold multiple feature film scripts. As is the norm in Hollywood, those scripts have never been made into movies. (Yay, Hollywood!) She’s also done uncredited punch-up writing on TV movies that come cross her screen every once in awhile, often the middle of the night, which is both funny and scary. Behind the camera, Honey directed a short film involving women with beards. (Good thing. The film was called: Women With Beards. Truth in advertising, please.) which got Honey into LA's Broad Comedy Feastival.
As a novelist, Honey has created the comedy ensemble fiction of the Careful-ish trilogy. The books have been on several Amazon bestseller lists, and inspired a fair amount of cocktail mixing among her loyal fans. The series is currently being shopped by Brilliant Entertainment for streaming. Her latest book, V-Life a contemporary vampire satire series (Spoiler: There will be blood and bat mitzvahs.) is with Aevitas Creative Management.
An avid downhill skier and former distance runner, Honey has also spent time in the ring. She once sparred with female boxing champion Christy Martin. She's most proud that she neither bled nor cried.
